Athletics shot makes Frakes top 25

Bill Frake, legendary sports photographer for magazine Sports Illustrated, recently compiled a list of 25 of his favorite sports shot. A track & field picture made it in a number 2. Frakes quote is listed below along with the link.

"Aug. 9, 1992, at the Barcelona Olympics, was perhaps the greatest day ever for track and field. This is the finish of the 4 x 100 relay. All three winning teams ran under the existing world record. The U.S. team anchored by Carl Lewis (celebrating here) won gold."

What I love about the picture is that if you saw any of the three athletes pictured in isolation you could believe that they were the winners.
