Round up of Crusaders indoors

One of the newest members of Da Cru, Derek Callan didn’t spear any time starting on his winning ways. Less than a month after joining the club he placed won silver medal in the senior indoors combined events (21st January 2012). Derek built accumulated a sizable amount of points over the first two events with a 2nd place in the 60m hurdles and a win in the long jump.
National Indoors Multi events
In the Loughborough Students AC Open Meeting the same day, two long time members of Da Cru went head to head over 60m Hurdles. Ian McDonald placed second with national record holder, Peter Coghlan on the comeback trail placing 3rd. A week later Peter was in action again running 8.06 in the London Games in Lee Valley stadium.

On the 29th January in Nenagh at the Leinster Championships, Graham Flynn got bronze in the 60m M1 category with a time of 7.84sec which is a PB. After a poor start but he made good ground to get 3rd. Liam Lyster added to his medal haul from the National indoors with a gold in the 60m (8.7sec), M5 category and gold in the shot put.
Garrett Dunne another Crusader got bronze in the 400m senior race with Aidan O’Callaghan in his first race for Crusaders running well in the 60m and 200m. Both showed good form in their build-up to the Irish university championships 4th February where they will complete for Trinity.
