Junior Cru wins Dublin Cross Country Championships

The Junior Cru in their first cross country season in quiet some time, have got off to a great start.  In Santry Demense on Sunday 6th November, the under 10 boys team were crowned Dublin Champions.  It was double gold for Patrick Tucker as be won individual gold to add his overall win in the Dublin cross country league achieved earlier in the season.  Oisin McGinley, another member of the Junior Cru who competed in all four rounds of the league, used his experience gained from the league to place 8th, one place ahead of Brian Barron having a great run in 9th.  Cian Morgan and Charlie Johnston rounded out the team and combined with the others to give Crusaders 39 points, and a clear win over DSD and Tallaght.  In the girls under 10, Ellen Cheung ran well to finish in the top ten.  Another runner to finish highly was Mikela Griffin who finished 12th in the under 12 girls race.

These results along with the womens team win the previous weekend, makes the future of Crusaders look bright.  It may have been over twenty years since either sections have won a team champions, but like buses, you wait for one to come along, then two come along at once.
