European U23 qualification for Colin Quirke

Colin Quirke competing for Manhatten College in the MAAC conference championship in Laurenceville, NJ, covered all four throwing events. His weekend started out on Saturday when he covered the two throws he does not normally compete in, the Javelin and hammer. On the second day, he got to throw in his two specialist events, winning both the shot and discus. The first event up was the shot which he won in 16.35, that was followed later that day by a 54.86 which was not only an MAAC championship record but also qualified him for the European under 23 championships in Ostrava, Czech Republic in July. His weekend of throw was rewarded by him being voted joint Most Outstanding Performer for Field Events in the championships.
