Crusader athletes in action over cross country
Sam Mealy in cross-country action in the U.S.
While conditions for cross country races are not normally easy, the BHAA race in St. Margarets, North County Dublin stands out as a tougher test than normal. Two of the Cru braved the two lap course including a stream crossing on each lap with the addition this year of the recently fallen snow. Rob Cross and Jason Kehoe took off with the leaders over farmland course with the back drop of white fields and after freezing plunge on each lap finish 6th and 7th, respectively. Further afield the previous weekend, in much warmer conditions, Sam Mealy away in California for year completed in the US Track and Field association Pacific region cross country championships. Over traditional American cross country course of parkland and clay pathways Sam finished 59th overall. Full results can be found on the USATF website.
