Steven Colvert winning heat 1 in European U23 championships
Steven Colvert finished 6th in the 200m in the 8th European U23 Athletics Championships in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Steven opened his championship with a win in heat 1 on 15th July and came back the next day to qualify for the final with a PB of 20.76. This time moves him to 4th on the Irish All time list. Later that day he finished 6th in the final in a time of 21.03 into a head wind, ahead of athletes ranked higher than him. The championships saw Steven recording some of his fastest times, often into head winds, a credit to Steven and his coach John Coghlan on getting him to the championship in his best form ever.
