Colin Quirke breaks his national record in the shot

Colin Quirke, competing at the MAAC championships in The Armory New York, broke his own Irish U23 shot record with a throw of 17.91m He is closing in on his father indoor senior record of 18.07m set over 20 years ago, with NCAA indoor championships on the 9th and 10th March, he may eclipse it this season. Colin also gained valuable points for his team, Manhattan College, with a 17m in the weight throw for 4th which help defeat their MAAC title.

Eoin Mulhall rounded out his impressive indoor season with yet another PB, running 48.25 to place 4th in a highly competitive 400m in the Midlands Countries Open in Birmingham on 19th February.
