Qualifier for Europeans & NEW Club Record

Crusader Thomas Chamney added his name to the list of Irish qualifiers for the European Championships. Chamney took a training spell in Barcelona to prepare for a race in Germany where he took a whopping 0.8 off his previous personal best running 1:46.82.

This time is also a new Crusaders AC Club Record, beating Ronnie Delaneys time of 1:47.2 which he ran in 1957. Delaney still holds the records for the mile and the 1500.

Chamney now travels to Belgium in the hope to catch another fast race. Fans will be able to catch him running (what we believe is) his first race on Irish soil this year at the National Championships on the 22/23 July.
