Crusaders Top Irish Rankings
Now that the dust has settled on another indoor season, it behoves me to reflect on the enduring class of the Crusaders men's track and field team, and no better place to look than the Irish rankings. First up is Tom Chamney, a rising star who narrowly missed out on a final place in the European Indoor champs in Birmingham. With a season's best of 1:47.82 in the 800m (1089 IAAF points), the Dawg stands head and four shoulders above the rest of the country. Next up, Ian McDonald, who, after spending a year in Florida with the Coghlan boys, is finally delivering on the promise he has shown in the last two years with a big PB of 8.08s n the 60mh (1045 IAAF points). Last, and by no means least - except in the hair department, is Steve "Flemmo" Fleming whose new long jump PB of 7.41m (1002 IAAF points) is documented below.
Let's see this kind of form carried through to the summer, with clear blue water between Da Cru basking at the top of the rankings and Da Rest gasping for air in the deep.
