GOOD RUN BY COGHLAN IN RAHENY

On a great day at the 22nd Axa Raheny 5, Garrett Coghlan was among the early leaders and although he struggled in the final mile, held on to finish 11th in creditable time
of 25.30. Behind him came the ever improving Rob Cross 28.07, Don Ryan 30.35 (M40), Emma Sokell 31.50, Aoife Joyce 35.06, Geraldine O'Shea 41.45, Emma McAuley 43.9, Maureen McGinley 43.54 (W40), Sinead Roche 44.0, Eileen Hassett 46.0, Sean Kearns (M75!) 47.0 and Tania Banotti 48.25.

Great runs by all - what a pity the race clashed with the mountain run at Maulin (there's another clash coming with the Ballycotton 10) or we'd have had a much larger crowd in action. In all, a stunning 1,500 turned out in Raheny, firmly established as the best spring road race on the calendar. Well done to all our friends in Raheny Shamrocks for their magnificent organisation; a model for
other races.
