BBC SPORT | Athletics | McIlroy withdraws from GB team

BBC SPORT | Athletics | McIlroy withdraws from GB team: "Northern Ireland's James McIlroy has pulled out of the Great Britain team competing in the Spar European Cup in Florence this weekend.

The 800 metres runner from Larne has a head cold and his place will be taken by Cardiff's Jimmy Watkins.

McIlroy hopes to be fit enough for a return to action in a meeting at Zaragoza on 24 June.

The 28-year-old has enjoyed a superb start to the season and won the AAA's Indoor 800m title in February."
